Polo on the Green

Polo on the Green may be cancelled, but the kids still need your help. Let's make this the #CoolestQuarantineOfTheSummer by raising as much money as possible for children in need. 

 

Over the last 23 years, Polo on the Green has raised over $1.4 million for Iowa children in need. Polo on the Green is a one-of-a-kind event in Iowa that brings together our community to support a great cause. Although we cant be together in person, Iowa children still need our help. Thats why Variety has dedicated the month of July to fundraising for Polo. We are inviting you all to help us make this the #CoolestQuarantineOfTheSummer by fundraising as much as we can to help the kids. Throughout 2020, Variety is raising funds to provide 20 specialized bikes to 20 children living with special needs. One $5,000 provides a specialized bicycle to a child in need. 

 

Each year at Polo on the Green, Variety conducts a Fund-A-Need fundraising campaign, selecting an area of giving to direct funds. This year, donors have the opportunity to select one of the categories below to direct their donation:

 

• 20 Bikes in 2020 – Specialized bike campaign
  Variety is raising funds to provide 20 children living with special needs a specialized bicycle in 2020. Specialized bicycles provide children who are unable to ride a traditional bike the joy of independence and freedom.
  
  
• Hunger
  Many children in Iowa are facing hunger now more than ever. $25 provides 100 meals, $50 provides 200 meals, $100 provides 400 meals, and so on. 
  
  
• Campership
  All children should have the opportunity to experience camp. A $400 donation will sponsor a child battling cancer to attend camp for a week. 
  
  
• Back to School
  All children deserve to have new school supplies when starting a new year. A $50 donation provides a backpack and school supplies to an underprivileged child to provide a positive start their school year.
  
  
• Traditional Bikes
  A $100 donation provides a bike, helmet and lock
  to an underprivileged child. Not only should all children have the opportunity to ride their own bike, but they should be able to do so safely with a helmet and lock. 
  
  
• General Fund
  Make a donation to Variety and your dollars will be directed to the most-needed funding areas.
