33rd Annual Black Tie Gala Raises $148,000

Variety- the Children’s Charity’s Black Tie gala, “New York, New York” kicked off 2018 by raising $148,000 to support Iowa children.  

 

The gala was held at the Ron Pearson Center and was hosted by celebrity emcee, Des Moines native, David Anthony Higgins, known for his role in the hit television show Mike and Molly.

 

The live auction featured a Fund a Need segment in which guests were asked to support Variety’s newest campaign, the Variety Star Playground at Riverview Park. Collectively, more than $20,000 was raised for the Playground.

 

Variety is dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged, at-risk and special needs children throughout Iowa. Funding is provided to programs and initiatives that directly impact the well-being of children in our community.
