Variety – the Children’s Charity raised $200,000 at its 11th annual Variety Stag event. More than 475 men crowded the front lawn at Talons of Tuscany to enjoy a steak dinner, craft beer and spirits sampling, Dennis Albaugh’s private car collection and a lively auction.
Nearly $30,000 of the funds raised came from one live auction item, Fund a Need. With the support of the crowd, $29,275 was raised to support Variety’s mobility programs. These programs include;
- Kids on the Go – Traditional and specialized bikes and other mobility equipment.
- Variety Vans –These vans transport children to doctor’s appointments, therapy sessions and special outings or activities.
- Variety Star Playgrounds –Variety is working with Iowa communities to provide all-inclusive playgrounds for children with and without special needs.
Over the last 11 years, Variety Stag has raised $1.58 million to improve the lives of children in Iowa. View photos of the event here.
