Central College students and employees will be volunteering their time to build approximately 150 bikes for children in need at Findley Elementary. Students will work together to build the easy-to-assemble bikes, and then professionals from Bike World will complete a safety check on all bikes before they are given to the children. The event is sponsored on campus by the Central Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

Bikes go hand in hand with being a kid, but for many children in our community, the prospect of owning their own bike is only a dream. Variety helps make that dream a reality by providing bikes, helmets, and locks to children in need throughout Iowa. The bikes directly impact a child and their family by instilling a sense of responsibility and facilitating the simple joy of riding a bike. Our Variety Bikes also help provide recreation and address the importance of exercise and good health. The Kids on the Go! safety program illustrates the significance of wearing a helmet, locking up your bike, and riding cautiously.

About Variety: Variety – the Children’s Charity is dedicated to improving the lives of children who are at risk, underprivileged, critically ill or living with special needs. Funding is provided to programs and initiatives that directly impact the well-being of children in our community.
