Young Variety Board of Directors Applications

Love volunteering? Ready to take a leadership role? Apply to join the Young Variety Board of Directors! Applications are now available for 2023-2024 open positions. Young Variety, the young professionals' arm of Variety, is comprised of young professionals in central Iowa who are committed to improving the lives of children while having fun and meeting new people. 

Current Board openings include:

  • Vice President

  • Vice President of Events

  • Vice President of Communications

  • Vice President of Community Outreach

  • Vice President of Philanthropy

  • At-Large

Applications are currently closed. If you submitted an application, you will be notified after the April 25th Young Variety Board meeting. 

Young Variety Board Member Expectations

Board Meetings

  • Attend at least 75% of monthly board meetings. If absent, members will make their best effort to send a committee member in their place

 

Committee Meetings

  • Be an ACTIVE member on a minimum of one committee
  • Attend 75% of assigned committee meetings

 

Engagement

  • Actively engaged in outreach efforts
  • Recruit three new individuals to be engaged with Variety through attending socials, charity tours, events and committees
  • Attend a minimum of three outreach/charity tours

 

Charity Grant Process

  • Be actively involved in the charity process
  • Review a minimum of one grant application

 

Variety Events

  • Personally volunteer and/or recruit volunteers for a minimum of four Variety events throughout the year
  • Promote and/or attend as many Variety events as possible

 

VIP

  • Serve as a Telethon Very Interested Person (VIP), raising a minimum of $1,000
  • Be actively involved in the Telethon celebration

 

Financial

  • Actively raise awareness and dollars for Variety
  • Make a meaningful personal contribution
  • Solicit dollars from the community for event sponsorships, foundation support, in-kind, etc.
